In Summer 2023, EPIC.LAN was selected by Ubisoft UK to run the R6 North Rainbow Rumble, a new off-season competition designed for the Northern Europe Region Rainbow 6 Siege community.
EPIC.LAN proposed a easy to follow player-centric tournament with a competitive structure and a massive focus on improving the experience through a high quality customer service approach, a priority on competitive integrity, a refreshed player Discord and a seamless link between the tournament administration teams and tournament platform already operated by EPIC.LAN for a number of years.
In addition, Ubisoft UK wanted to create a refreshed broadcast style, mirroring the values of sports entertainment. EPIC.LAN worked closely with talent and weekly mystery guests to make the product more exciting and engaging to a wider audience, including those from the casual or creator communities that would not normally watch competitive siege. EPIC.LAN also engaged High Viz Media Group to create additional content for each broadcast designed to bring out the player personalities, even down to throwing the occasional spicy promo. The result was a unique broadcast style, delivered to an exceptionally high quality both online during the group stages and culminating in a visually spectacular virtual set hosted from Great West Studio in London.

Project Management
For a project on this scale, EPIC.LAN adopted an open and transparent approach to project management, giving the client full access to their cloud-based project management tools so that all key information was immediately accessible when needed.
A clear structure of weekly meetings was established with each project theme (Operations, Content, Socials) along with a Discord setup which allowed all team members, suppliers and clients to communicate with each other quickly when needed to ensure that no team members were blocked from carrying out their roles.
Qualifiers & Group Stages
EPIC.LAN assembled some of the best backstage and on-camera talent available in the region to select the teams that would make it through to the playoffs, while also ensuring that opportunities were created for upcoming individuals keen to make their mark on the Siege scene throughout nearly 2 months of qualifiers and group play days.
Group broadcasts were hosted from EPIC.LAN’s AWS production setup with data integration from the R6 North website allowing player stories to be told visually through enhanced stats graphics.
Playoffs
For the final two days of the Rumble, the show moved to London, working alongside High Viz Media Group in to a wrestling arena themed Unreal virtual studio. The mystery guest theme continued, with AEW stars Adam Cole and Claudio Castiglioni joining on day 1 and the popular UK Siege content creator Tom J Sherlock taking part in some hijinks involving a missing prize belt for the finals.
The broadcast quality stepped up significantly for the finals with all the tools of a full studio available, bringing in dedicated roles for replays, audio, lighting, virtual set/camera operation, stream engineering, hair & makeup and vision mixing integrated with the core crew who had been working through the online stages..
